Notary Service

Texas Government Code § 406.024 sets out the maximum fees a Notary Public may charge for notary public services. 

Mobile Travel & Service Fees: Travel and other service-related fees are separate from Texas statutory notarial fees. These fees compensate for travel, time, scheduling, and other services associated with providing mobile or signing-agent services and are disclosed and agreed upon before the appointment.

The Texas Secretary of State currently lists the following maximums under §406.024

Acknowledgments

For first signature - $10      

For each additional signature on same certificate - $1

Jurats

Per certificate, including oath or affirmation - $10

Certified copy

Per certificate - $10

Certified Copies of Notarial Records, per page - $1

Protests

For each bill or note - $4

Per notice served - $1

For certificate and seal - $4

Depositions

For certificate and oath - $10

Taking the deposition of witness, for each 100 words - $1

All Other Notarial Acts - $10

Professional Signing & Document Services

Fees for loan signings, real estate closings, and document-signing appointments are separate from Texas statutory notarial fees. These service fees reflect factors such as document volume, number of signers and notarizations, printing, travel, appointment time, scanbacks, shipping, and other services provided.

Last Will and Testament & Living Trust packages - $150

Single Loan Closing - $200

Travel and non-closing fee - $85

(This fee is due if notary travels to location and borrower refuses to sign)

Travel Fee

Hartfield Notary Service uses a flat rate mileage structure and calculates distance from Dallas, TX 75218 ZIP code.

Single notarization within 20 miles (40 miles round trip) - $85

Additional mileage fee after first 20 miles - $20

After hours

(12 a.m. to 9 a.m. or 5 p.m to 12 a.m M – F or Weekends) - $30

Holidays - $50

Inclement Weather - $50

Location Charges 

Additional Mobile Service Fees: The following fees are separate from Texas statutory notarial fees and apply when the circumstances of the appointment require additional travel, time, scheduling, or specialized service. Applicable fees are disclosed before service is performed.

DFW Airport Terminal - $100

Hospitals and nursing homes - $50

Excessive Wait Time per hour, more than 30 minutes at location - $45
